Kansas City Movement (as it is) began in 2020 as a joint venture between sisters Rachel Plante EuDaly, Amber EuDaly Eames and Rachael EuDaly Gravitt, From its roots beginning in 1996 offering daytime lessons for homeschoolers in the Kansas City metro , Kansas City Movement has now expanded to also offer evening classes in a wide variety of styles including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern/contemporary. The daytime dance program was featured in Dance Teacher Magazine in 2011 and is considered to be the longest established program of its kind nationwide.
KCM offers a “Teacher’s Assistant” program designed for the young artists interested in teaching. We train students to teach our syllabus and provide substitute teaching opportunities for outstanding youth who display leadership potential.
Kansas City Movement is unique in performance orientation. We do not have a competitive dance team instead the Kansas City Movement production team has written and produced 11 full length original story ballets over the past 20 years. These productions are developed over a 14 month period where dance students, choreographers, writers, set, costume and lighting designers all work together creating an immersive experience that brings powerful stories and characters to life on stage. Kansas City Movement's foundation is the conviction that dance is fulfilling its highest calling when its purpose is centered around the story it is telling.
